Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation therapy that is used for reducing scars caused by acne, surgery, or burns. Microneedling is an in-office treatment that does not require general anesthesia. First, the skin is cleansed and treated with a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort. 

The procedure takes 20-30 minutes, depending on the area treated. Some pressure sensations might be felt however these will not be painful.  

Recovery after this treatment depends on the length and density of the needle length used. The skin will be pink or red in appearance for 24-48 hours, similar to a sunburn with minor bleeding and occasional, mild bruising. The skin may also feel warm, tight and itchy for a short time.
